To be honest, yeah it kind of is. We don't love our current opposite shift schedules + are looking forward to the day when my husband can finally have a 9-to-5. But until then, we've had to get creative to get our quality time in.
Whenever possible, we try to spend at least a little bit of time in bed together. If you're the day-shifter, just think about it as a chance to get an extra nap or two in!
When I have to go to bed before an early work morning + he's on a day off, he'll come tuck me into bed + maybe come cuddle for a few minutes until I fall asleep. I think it's so sweet, + while I miss being next to him all night long, I still feel loved + cared for.
There's 1 day out of the week that we're both off of work, + we do our best to reserve that day for date nights or spending time together. I do my best to take care of chores + errands before that day, + he tries not to have appointments scheduled either if he can avoid it.
What else do our other night shift / day shift couples do to maximize your time together? I feel like we're definitely still figuring this out + would love to hear more ideas!
